    WORKING TOWARDS

    A GENDER EQUAL WORLD

  • Khilti Pari; supporting women with opportunities that allow for economic and social growth

    Our Mission Statement

If we help educate women, we can empower them socioeconomically, because women providing financial support to their families will advance society’s perspective on female respect and capability.

    Theory of Change
    Why educate a girl?

The literacy rate measured for females is currently 64.45% in India, while Rajasthan is the lowest at 52.66%. The current state of India has shown a tendency of regarding women as someone's mother, sister or wife, not as an individual. The lack of facilities has pushed 63.5% female students to quit school in their early adolescence. In low-income households, girls are often neglected education, while boys are sent to school. A woman in India is often seen responsible for household chores, child bearing and rearing, with a dominating man. At Khilti Pari, we believe a woman is much more than these roles. She is a strong and capable individual of society. Therefore, we must break this chain of child marriage and encourage girls to explore their capabilities. We believe the importance of education and female health is often overlooked and this is how we have taken a step towards gender equality.

  • New Library in Chaksu

Aside from our first library in Toonga, this year we opened a new library in a nearby village, Chaksu. Over 50 girls come here to prepare for government jobs.

    Saloni Dulariya

Saloni is a remarkable young woman, with a bright future ahead of her. Her mother, a hardworking tailor, has dedicated herself to providing for Saloni's education after the passing of her alcoholic father. Despite the challenges that come with being the child of a single parent, Saloni has excelled academically, having topped her 11th-grade science class. Khilti Pari has been funding Saloni's education for over 5 years. She is now in college, studying to become a doctor.

At KP we are committed to supporting women like Saloni and her mother through education, skills training, and financial assistance so they can achieve their full potential. Join us in our mission to empower underprivileged women in India today!

    Nishu Kanwar

Nishu, an ambitious 18-year-old, has a strong desire to pursue her higher education and become a policewoman. However, her parents, who are struggling financially and concerned about Nishu's health, had plans to arrange her marriage to a wealthier family after she graduated high school. As soon as Nishu approached us about this and her dream to continue studying, our team visited her parents to discuss the matter. We stressed the importance of Nishu's education and urged them to postpone the marriage. During the meeting, we discovered that Nishu's mother was the decision maker in the family and her father, an alcoholic, was unable to contribute to the discussion. After much deliberation, her mother agreed to postpone the marriage for two years, provided that we could support Nishu's education.

We are committed to helping Nishu achieve her dreams and providing her with the resources she needs to succeed. Our organization firmly believes in empowering young women like Nishu to pursue their goals and build a brighter future for themselves and their families.

  • “Our daughter has been funded by Khilti Pari for 4 years now, and we see a bright future ahead for her.”

    — Kavita Sharma, Mother of Isha

My mother runs our household financially and is a housewife, while my father does not have a job. Due to our poor financial condition I joined Khilti Pari. I have since applied for jobs and done exams, hoping I get selected soon.
